Anyone… Can I get an explanation (or two…) on what would cause flickering faces? It's a piece of text. No chance of two objects in the same place. One face flickers throughout my sequence. Thanks again (and again…) Patrick Malone 70461,3646

Patrick, << flickering faces.. >> sometimes this is caused by clipping. see z-clip-near in the installation manual. to test this, create a dummy, attach everything to the dummy and scale the dummy up (everything will scale corrrectly along with the dummy). Now, rerender a piece of your animation. jonas[adesk]

Jonas… do I do this inside the current animation? I'll still need to read up but I want to make sure I understand what you're saying… Thanks… Patrick Malone 70461,3646

Patrick, you would do it (create a dummy/hierarchy link all of the objects to the dummy/scale the dummy/rerender(anything flickering?)) inside the keyframer. jonas[adesk]

The two most common causes of flickering faces are: 1) 2 coplanar faces connected to the same 3 verts. and 2) A shadow map that's too low in resolution. – G
