My ordeal is finally over. I received the right disk today and finally got Pro loaded. What a relief. This has been an exhausting purchase and hopefully, well worth it. I've already created a nice 640×480 FLC. It's actually not difficult to use and I look forward to creating more complex animations. I was so close to sending the product back, but I decided to give it this week to straighten out. Special thanks to Jonas and some of the other tech support people that read my messages here and forwarded them to the right people. Getting that disk today meant a lot–otherwise it would have gone back to EPI this afternoon. Regards, Maura

Hi Maura. THANK YOU for hanging in there. I'm still pursuing answers for those two questions we discussed. It will probably be early next week when I give you a call. Good Luck with your animations and have fun! Rich Kelley

So far, I'm happy with it. I've created 2 very nice animations and they were easy. It's all very logical and not too difficult. But now I get to bug your tech support people with "how can I" questions….

Great!! It is my experience that the best ideas of "how to" are communicated right here in this forum. There are plenty of willing users who love to share their expertise. I'll call today. Rich

Maura: Check out the MANY animations in the forum libraries be Ed Kellerman (scan for keyword KELLERMAN). This will not only give you an idea of what can be done, but many are little "how-to's" or "tutorials" on how to do the effect illustrated. Dave

Yep, will do that. In fact, will take a look at them today. Thanks.

Heck, Ed — I think Autodesk ought to be hustling you out to California and handcuffing you to Jim Kent til the next AAP is released!<g>

>>Heck, Ed — I think Autodesk ought to be hustling you out to California and handcuffing you to Jim Kent til the next AAP is released!<g><< Nothing would make me happier! I am willing, able, and available! And, my unemployment checks are about to run out! If Autodesk doesn't take action soon, they, and this forum, will loose me (probably to a competitor). I have not described how I achieve most of my animations effects. As I learn 3DS, I see that they can do some of the stuff I've discovered, but not all. For example, in "Swinging Bars" (OCH57.ZIP) I use CYCLICAL Hierarchical Linking. There are 12 linked objects in that animation. The motion of the parent is constrained by the 12th generation grandchild. Any of the 12 objects can be considered the parent! I used CHL in 1CH08.ZIP also, but to get the cute title, Missing Link, I "Hid" one object. The smoothness of motion in these animations is partly achieved by "softening" in the "time" dimension (called Blur in 3DS). I have only described the first two documentation errors in each chapter of the ref for AniPro, and have only mentioned a few of the bugs. I would like nothing better than to dedicate the time I now use for job hunting, and to sell a FLC here and there, to sharing all my animator knowledge!
