Brian, Can you get HDToolBox to recognize more than one device driver? My system uses scsi.device with the 50 Meg drive on the A2091 and gvpscsi.device on the 100 Meg attached to the G-Force 030 accelerator. Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless' from the Rocket City! via AutoPilot 1.03a

Gayle, have you given any thought to having two icons? "You do trust me, don't you? Of course you do." — "To Play the King" (BBC)

No, I didn't know that you could have 2 icons. via AutoPilot 1.03a

Gayle, sure, use the copy function of the Workbench Icons menu and then rename the one that is now named Copy_of_HDToolBox to something like HDToolBox_GVP, or somesuch. Then add the infamous tooltype to just that one. "You do trust me, don't you? Of course you do." — "To Play the King" (BBC)

Brian, To avoid having tow copies of the program laying around, could you just create a link and use a different tooltype seting in the link icon? BTW, HDTooBox is DANGEROUS with GVP stuff. I think GVP's RDB may not be 100% to the liking of ToolBox and one time I tried just rewriting the RDB from HDToolBox and it ended up making my disks inaccesible. I had to reformat and start all over again. Nothing could recover the files. (Well, they all said they had recovered the files, but they had the file names and then had blocks for the files seeming randomely linked to file header blocks or whatever tehy are called.)

Wayne, I haven't thought about that, nor do I have a way to test it. You might give it a try there. As far as HDToolBox being dangerous, I only use it for those parameters that FaaastPrep doesn't display. It's a tool, and as with any tool, you have to be careful, I guess. It's never bit me yet, but now that I've said that, it probably will the next time I use it <g>. Sorry about the delay in the reply, AP problems.

Sorry, Gayle only one device driver at a time, which you may enter in tooltypes like this (if it's not the default scsi.device): SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=gvpscsi.device You can make yourself a copy of the icon and have one for each driver. // Chris coming in from Germany \X/ on AutoPilot 1.061……….
