CB >>[…] How can I prevent Unzip from crashing?<< This might not work, but try increasing the stack. Some zipped files seem to use a lot of stack space when being unpacked. Try a stack of 40000. Ron. – ap'ing with AP. (Eagles may fly, but weasels aren't sucked into jet engines.)

Ronald, THANK YOU! I feel so dopey… checking the stack size is like checking cables and connections when you have a hardware problem: it's one of those basic things that everyone should do when tracking down a problem. I thought my stack size was set at 40000; I did that a long time ago. Well, it isn't. I open a shell and get a stack size of 4000. I figure the custom stack size must've been lost when I upgraded my system software a year ago, and I never noticed before. So, thanks again. I now have 14 Jpegs from my Singapore friend, ready to view. Happy happy joy joy! Blaq!
