Thanks for the info. So far, the "ROMWack" option under the debug is the only
one that gave me a lock-up.
Getting back to my clock (on not again!)… I opened the case to check the
clock card, and found that it wasn't firmly inserted. So, I did, thinking 'Ah
ha! Got it'. Lo, and today, I don't. The month-day was correct, the year was
off by about 20 years, and the time was when I shut it down last. I am really
getting ticked. Could there be something that gets re-directed to RAM, like
the time prefs settings (grabbing at straws), that is throwing this thing off?
I can't take it back to the delaer (he's in San Diego). Any thing you can
think of to help?

except for the fact that the 1.3 version of SetClock was broke on
SetClock Reset (it worked in 1.2 and 1.3.2), I can't think of anything
off-hand. It could be a program that is doing it, but most programs these
days don't have that particular buglet. Are you running some very old
game? Is the battery firmly seated and have you checked it with a
multimeter to see if it's the correct voltage?

I am the onw who is sheepish (and a little ticked). See, I got the thing back
last Nov. 1, and the battery, with my multimeter is 0.5 volts, just about 2.5
volts shy of being new. Why oh why? guess I'll pack up and go to San Diego to
see about this!

there might be a problem with the chip then. If the battery was new
when you got the system, it shouldn't have drained it that quickly unless
it was defective. Just thought I'd note that.

I hope it isn't defective. Being a mechanic (by virtue of navy), I'm not usre,
but, when I first looked at the chip it was not properly seated. Could that
have caused the battery to drain? Haven't gotten a new battery yet; hope they
aren't too $$$. (it's a cr2032 wafer battery, 3 volts)

by any measure, C= has had it each and every year since I bothered
to track the stock, and that has been quite a while. The same now
applies to other stocks. I think that C= is a good investment if you
have a bit of cash you can drop on a company that may or may not be
here tomorrow. If you consider that a bad option, I might remind
you that this is the heaviest growing segment of the market today.
I wouldn't invest right now, but I can't say that for all
investors. To categorically isolate any one company for investment
is to say that you know where the market will go. I don't know
that. You don't know that. To give advice on market investments
without understanding the dynamics of the corporate history is
distasteful, IMHO.
I bought the DBK clock for my Amy and had nothing but problems…
everytime I booted the system, it threw the clock to February 15,
2014! (I can assue you I have no files written on THAT date!)
A call to DKB, they said change the battery, and it has worked fine
since then. How I got a dead battery in a brand-new clock is a
mystery however!
