We put 16 new graduates through the AutoCAD Level 1 Certification Exam last week with a 72.5% success rate!! These people did our DOS for ACAD course, Level 1 and Level 2 and practise labs. We were very pleased to see such a high success rate. They had been primed for the exam since it was a UI sponsored course and UI agreed to pay the costs of the test. We used Alan Kalameja's practise book heavily and focused on time saving techniques to get through the various styles of questions. It seemed to pay off very well for the students. The Drake Certification process truly impressed me as to how easy it is now that we have done it. We fumbled a bit with the first try, but the second time went very smooth. I love the instant results as did the students. Uploading and downloading the exams and the results went without a hitch. This is truly a significant advance in giving the ATC network some serious credibility in the maketplace. It has generated quite a bit of attention and excitement at this end. If anyone has accurate statistics on the average pass rate for past exams I would like to hear about it as soon as possible. I would like to know how our beginners stack up against the experienced users that have been taking the exam up 'til now. Remember the people we tested were all raw beginners!! Most of them had never even turned on a computer when they started the course! I felt that it would not have been unreasonable to have none of them pass. The actual breakdown on the results were as follows; 10 people passed both parts 3 people passed the 2 hour drawing portion and failed the 1 hour general knowledge 3 people failed both parts.
