File/Creator type list?

Does anyone have an up to date list of popular/common file and creator
code types, including new versions of ClarisImpact, ACI 4D Write,
WordPerfect 3.0 etc?

Apple doesn't release the list of registered creator and file types.
There's a good reason: Developers may (and should) register creator and file
types early during development. Apple doesn't have any way of knowing when the
products associated with those types get released (or if they ever get
released) so the list can't be given out because it contains confidential
developer information (the name of unannounced products). If there were some
way to go back in time to 1984, Apple would probably try to come up with a
better method of tracking creator types. However, there are thousands of
creator types registered, and Apple has no way to track down many of the
companies (names have changed, addresses and phone numbers have changed, even
product names have changed).

But doesn't that mean that many developers might be told their proposed
creator/types are in collision, yet they only collide with un-released products
from 1985? Wouldn't it be useful or at least interesting to release the list of
confirmed IDs?
The list won't be released. However, you can see if a specific creator type
has been assigned by using the "C/F Registration Requests" HyperCard stack
that's on every Apple Developer CD.
