'seeding.apple.com…just sits there'
This happened to me the first time I tried. I did manage to get on in the
evening though – maybe the machine goes down/gets too busy during the day?
Unfortunately, our Internet access here goes through an HP9000, so all ftps
must fit in my disk allocation there. The 700K MacTCP kit didn't – I'm now
going to get my allocation bumped up. Hopefully we will soon extend the
government's Internet past that machine, or at least have a SLIP type dialup to
avoid this problem.
'I checked on Apple Link' – from what I know, Apple Link is hideously expensive
– even the local MicroAge dealer complains about it. Now that Internet has
arrived, we have access to more of these goodies.
