Has anyone here used the Zinc platform?
I saw a demo at the Software Development conference in San Jose and was rather
impressed with it. I was also surprised that I had not heard of it before
though. They have portable versions for Mac, Windows, NT, DOS, Unix, etc, and
claim to be fully object oriented.
Oh yeah, cost was $500 for the engine plus $300 for each of the system keys,
with no runtime royalties. That is, if you want to develop for Mac and
Windows, you would buy one engine plus one Mac key plus one Windows key, for a
total of $1100 to have cross-platform support on those platforms.
