Any ideas of how I can get an Alias IGES file into 3D studio. I'm
trying to see how the renderings compare but can't get the file
across. I tried using AutoCAD but I couldn't import the IGES file

Yes, it will go to DXF but it seems to loose a lot in the process and I thought
I meght get better luck if I did the IGES to DXF in an Autodesk product. From
what I can see DXF isn't a very good format for the purpose.

I think the Schreiber Instruments folks have been working on an IGES->3DS
converter. You might want to call them at 303/759/1024.

Richard, I could have sworn that I answered the exact same question a couple of
days ago, I just can't find the response I sent. Anyway, here goes; 1st, what
version of AutoCAD? I'm assuming you have r12, if so, you need to get the IGES
5.1 translator from Autodesk. You can import nurbs surfaces into AutoCAD as
meshes and then dxf them out to 3ds.
