And this isn't even with trying to have 3DS > actually _run_ in the Background! I assume that for each, you are using some high-resolution Windows driver and have 3D Studio configured for some high-resolution modes. Have you tried using some standard SVGA driver for Windows? This might help. If this is unacceptable, have you looked around at the PIF settings for 3D Studio… I believe that there are settings for forcing redraws and the like for the Windows side of things. As for the 3D Studio side, you might have to switch modules or something to get it to redraw. Chuck Walbourn – Vibrant Graphics

I just explained to Gus that I haven't even installed your new drivers. It has not been a concern yet. I just started to learn 3DS and don't use it much under windows, But, I would like to know how to redraw the screen when I return to Windows after using a TSR (to change my mouse key definitions). Sometimes I want to use the TSR while using Corel Draw, for example. Do you, or Gus, have any suggestions? What I do now is jump to a DOS window first.

Chuck, thanks, but I specifically stated in my message that "256-color only solutions need not apply." We REQUIRE True Color in 3DS and at least High Color in Windows. Resorting to a "standard SVGA driver" would fall into that "need not apply" category. No PIF settings will do what you describe. I am very familiar with what all the PIF settings do. Gus, your solution sounds excellent! Now, if only we can get some 3DS drivers that implement it!
