My opinion: a dedicated machine for 3DS is NOT a waste of space. In fact it is
the best of all worlds, especially if networked to another machine that can
make texture maps, view images, etc. Really need a 486 or P5 though…

That is my thought exactly. The problem is they have no 486 or P5 Machines at
work. I will still have 3DS at home but will have to do a lot of work at work
on Macs. I need to have a Mac for my house so I can keep up with work but I
can't afford to buy a Pentium just for 3D-Studio and a PowerMac for everthing
eles. If there was a PowerMac version of 3D-Studio… I will network the two
and use the Mac for Image manipulation.

Pro and Sculpt 4D… The folks at Sculpt have a deep respect for 3D-Studio
saying that in many ways they are playing catch-up. So I would expect that
Sculpt is the better product…
