Hi Ho: I have two new flyer tips. Or at least I think that they are new. So if you already new about it… Well,… Good for you… 1.) I know that someone here other that me had asked for a way to play a clip and mark your in and out points. Like a real editor. Well here is how you do it: go in to the controls panel and click and hold on the right (forward) arrow. This will play the video in real-time when you get to the place you want your IN or OUT point, Let go. You can also do this with the left arrow (in reverse, but its kind'a difficult). 2.) Not really a tip so much as just, " Hey look another thing I never saw before." If, while the project is open, you select a cruton (effect or clip) then click the mouse at the upper left of the screen, where the name of the cruton is, you get a full path display for that cruton. I'm sure if your doing a massive project this could come in quite handy just to figure out what is what. Also did you know that you can type in a 2 digit location to select a cruton. For example if a cruton is in the third row down from the top and it is the second cruton over, type in 32 and that will select that cruton. Toaster 2.0 used to do this I really missed it in 3.0! You can also navigate in a project with the arrow keys, and in the clip panel, you can get a jog/shuttle mode by click-and-hold on the little arrows, then move the mouse right or left. It seems to speed up as you move farther away, and reverse if you go the other way.

but wait, there's more! Using arrow keys after adjusting an in/out point moves that point by single color-frame increments, alt- and shift- on those arrows jumps by 1-sec, or by some large amount (like 1/10th the whole range) and up and down jump to the ends. The numeric pad's top row will jump you into the in-point, out-point, length and delay time entry raeas, respectively. I think you can do alot without ever touching a mouse.

Aki, pmfji– If you can use the arrow keys to jog, do they auto-repeat? Does this provide an arrow-key based shuttle (either slow or normal speed)? regards, dean

Aki, I came in late on your messages. I found the arrow keys move the scrubber, but what were some of the other key commands you found? Fred

Like the top row of the numeric pad entering you into the various time-entry areas? Those keys?

I also discovered direct access keys for the storyboard. Try the keys on the keypad. Two hits and they go to 1.1, but with different routes. I try to document them in the master, they got lost in the shuffle. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances
