Sorry Denny, but if you are going to take a shot like that, be specific.
Amazing Computing has always had an open door policy to criticism. Send me a
letter with your concerns. Until now, I have never heard a discouraging word
from you. So how would I know you had a concern over our editorial standards.
We have always believed that information was the most important ingredient and
in so doing, we have allowed a lot of new, fresh writers work on the magazine.
We know we are not perfect. We just like to know all the mistakes we do make.

I apologize for the comment, and the message has been deleted. I definitely
want to support AC and hope to see you guys do well through this trying period.
You've provided a valuable resource for Amiga users for many years now, and I
don't mean to belittle that effort at all. Heck, I think your "AC's Guide"
editions are the most useful texts ever published for the Amiga.
The opinion I expressed was based on a couple of writers who used to submit
regularly to you guys a few years ago, and who had decent informational content
but who really had problems with organization, flow, and word usage. Plus one
well-known guy who thought going down the menus of a program item by item was
the best way to review a program… I used to get really frustrated reading
their stuff, but that was just the editor in me. 🙂 But that was just a few
guys and there was lots of great stuff wrapped around that.
Anyway, sorry for what seemed like a shot. I'm going to call PiM as soon as I
log off and resubscribe, and I hope that AC can continue to thrive in this
rather weird market.
And if I _do_ have any comments, I'll send them in to Feedback as constructive
suggestions instead of shooting my mouth off on an emotional day. 🙂

Don't be too quick to pass judgment on Amazing Computing. As other Amiga
magazines have dropped into and out of the Amiga market, (INFO, Transactor,
Ahoy and Compute's Amiga Resource to name a few) Amazing Computing has been
steadfastly supporting the Amiga since the early days of the A1000. Magazines
produced by large publishing conglomerates (such as IDG/AmigaWorld) usually
have the circulation, financial backing and well-staffed editorial offices that
factor mightily into producing a polished, "well-edited" publication. Hiring a
big team of top notch art directors, editors and contributors may be a snap for
IDG or Ziff-Davis, but PiM isn't blessed with the same monetary wealth or
manpower. I'm just thankful that PiM is still publishing an Amiga magazine!

PS – Kudos on your review of U.S. Navy Fighters in CGW last month. That sucker
really does need a P-90 to get up to speed…
