You wouldn't be referring to Wang Backbone systems would you? Just
curious. I worked on one in Honolulu for the state of HI.
I felt then that it was a much underused and under estimated system, the
potential you outline above proves it. I have heard there are home cable
providers who are talking about providing some form of highspeed computer
linkups soon, it sounds like a winning formula with the modems pushing
landlines hard now.

No, not the Wang system. I'm not an engineer, but the firm I work for employes
a variety of competing and complementary products from Zenith, Motorola, Datel,
and others.
