I need a bit of help with either AdPro or IM/RT. In preparing a catalog for a client, I am forced to use preprinted (read prescreened) greyscale images. They are no problem to scan as their quality is quite good. However, I need to eliminate or reduce the moire pattern created by rescreening these images. HiJack on our 486 does a decent job, but I would like a) to do better, and b) use an Amiga. I'm afraid that what I need are rather detailed specifics on how to achieve the desired result. We have used AdPro for quite some time now, but every time I try this exercise using various dithers, there doesn't appear to be any improvement at all. For that matter, in comparing the effects of each dither, there is no discernible difference! I have contacted AdPro tech support several times in the past for this, but other than stating that I must be doing something wrong, I've gotten no substantive guidance in this area. IM/RT is a program that we haven't really gotten into (mea culpa), although it's been installed for a while. If it matters, the scanning is being done on an Epson 300C connected to an A4000 with 16 megs of ram. The A4000 is also equipped with a Retina Z2, with the AdPro rendering screen set up as 1024×768 at 8 bits. I should be able to see any differences on screen, but there doesn't appear to be any. In any event, there are no differences at all when the test images are printed out from Pagemaker to a 300 dpi laser, and there should be. Any help will be very much appreciated.
