Once I have downloaded a file that is in LHA format and then unpacked it,
is there any reason to keep the file with the LHA suffix. I downloaded the
catalogs from the Amiga User, Arts, and Vendor forums and unpacked them.
Should I keep the LHA suffixed files?

Joan, I've recently found the still compressed file to be useful as a backup
for the original. I've kept them on a separate disk to keep from taking up all
the space on my tiny little hard drive. On the other hand, most of the really
useful files you'll be able to find here on CIS all the time.

The only reason to keep the LHA'd files would be for backup in case something
happend. I keep all of my downloaded files in a draw called "LHA'd files" on my
Work: partition. They have proven themselfs usefull several times in the past.
Like when i accidently formatted my WorkBench partition. But it all depends on
how much room you have.
It is completley up to you and your hard drive.;>)

Once your files are unpacked and you are sure they are working properly, you
can delete the LHA archive.
