I don't know why that would occur. I was running amax 2+on my a2000 using 1.3,
and the 2.x upgrade didn't seem to mind. The latest revision of the software is
4.0 and it requires a chip upgrade as well. I have just recently done this and
it works great! Multitasking, 16 colors, wow!
