#FrameGrabberHELP!
3 messages in this thread
Anyone, I recently bought a PP&S Framegrabber (used) from a major Amiga
developer. When it arrived it did not have any software or manuals. My
questions are: Do you need any special libs or device drivers that come with
the software? Is the Parallel hookup done with a 'standard' parallel cable or
does a 'special' one come with the Framegrabber (I didn't receive one).
I tried using it with ImageFx 2.0. The preview mode works fine, bu when I try
to grab, the system locks up.
The developer that sold it to me is also looking into this, however, if anyone
knows whats going on with the Framegrabber from your own experiences, please
let me know. Also, if PP&S is out of busiess, where can I get the software? Is
it in the PD? I know that PP&S offered a major upgrade (saw it revied in an old
Amigaworld for $99 list).
If anyone can help……..thanks in advance
John
I bought the Framegrabber back in 1989, and I still have it. I haven't used
ImageFX with it, but I do have the software that comes with it. No special
cable is needed, just a standard centronics printer cable (It does not come
with the Framegrabber). I did not purchase the Framgrabber 2.0 software when
it became available, so I only have the original software (but it works). It
has never locked up my system, but it doesn't seem to like AGA machines.
I don't know if PP&S is still in business. I'll check out my disk and see if
there was any redistributable software on it.
