Genlock Problems

Does anybody here on this forum know which chip(s) on the A2000 motherboard
are responsible for re-timing the video with a genlock source? Here's the
situation: A2000 version 6 motherboard w/8meg ram (pro-ram board-fully
tested) and ANY genlock (I have tried a Neriki, and 2 seperate Supergens)
both with and without incoming video from a Broadcast Camera. The machine
will lock-up within 5 minutes, no matter what software is running, no
matter what I use for an incoming timing source. Also worth noting, I have
an additional A2000 with which to test the other genlocks (and have, with
no problems), here's another interesting symptom.; Broadcast Titler II
comes up with garbage on the screen (until I press Ctrl-G) on this new
beast, but not on my other A2000. I thought it might be a problem with the
memory board, but all tests available that came with the Pro-Ram say
"no-way" "we're ok!" BTW when NOT hooked up to a genlock the machine
performs flawlessly, for HOURS, and HOURS. I have managed to keep from
pulling what remaining hair I have on my pointed head up to this point, but
could use some help.

I thought that I'd help you narrow things a bit…if you remember, I
was the guy that sold you your Pro-Ram 8 meg board…it never had a
problem with any genlock before; this would include using an AmiGen,
SuperGen and Scanlock with NO problems at all.

Is your system locking during a shuttle-search? My experience has been
that the genlocked Amiga requires stable incoming sync during
shuttle-searches and can be corrected by using house black as input source
and then fed downstream to the switcher (provided the entire edit suite is
genlocked to house black)…

No the system locks regardless of sync source, in this case, downstream
from Toaster running mostly Broadcast Titler II. BT2 is particulary good at
handling shuttle search situations, by hitting F-10 you put the Amiga's
native timing in charge of the genlock, essentially disengaging the
software from the process. When you come out of shuttle, press F-10 again
and it reverts back to source video timing. BTW I was on the phone to
Neriki today, and we think we've narrowed the problem down to a vertical
phase adjustment.
