Hmm, upon running CDK V.2 demos (and they require WinG) WinG is coming up with an error that I need to find a more updated video driver for my stupid card. (5420 type) I know I know its a sorry video card for use of VR… but I am going as fast as I can with the budget I have to purchase all of this hardware and software. Sooo can anyone tell me where I can find the most up to date video drivers around here? (dont make me have to beg and dig 🙂 ) It seems that I am getting left in the dust (reading VR World) and that everyone is already trying to code multi-user VR worlds and such. So is a small timer like myself wasting time? Just Wondering…. Wade

I have used the generic SVGA.EXE (256 colors) that we downloaded from the Microsoft forum for some older machines with some older cards. It worked with a few ISA cards here. I can't swear yours will but it's worth a try. It don't think it will help a Local bus or PCI card, but most of those come with their own 256 color driver so I am assuming that yours is an older ISA card? Give it a try. Do a search in the Drivers library in the Microsoft forum for SVGA. <<<It seems that I am getting left in the dust (reading VR World) and that everyone is already trying to code multi-user VR worlds and such. Sorry but I gotsa VL Bus. But I will dig around some more. As for being a small timer… I suppose its just that I am not sure where to go in all of this, so I am just holding my nose and jumping in. Its not easy tryin to learn all of this alone. But at any rate – I am trying right now to just learn what products are out there, what are the best, (video cards, gear, products in general, etc). Opinions? Also I have/will be sending in the little card that is bundled with CDK inquirin info about the MicronGreen products. – Wade (thanks for being so nice)

Hi Wade: I don't have a good answer for you regarding the video driver you need to make WinG work properly- I haven't seen this problem before. However, in the MS Forum, there is information available on WinG and perhaps someone on-line who could field a question for you. What else? Many of the major card manufacturers have dial-up bulletin boards with drivers you can download, something else to try if you're still stuck. -Kevin
