NOBODY can screw up subscriptions like computer magazines!
I know they don't do it as a matter of professional pride .. so I'm forming
the opinion that there must be a ghost – a computing demon – that haunts these
magazines' circulation departments. It may apply to computer clubs, too ..
many years ago, TPUG (Toronto PET Users Group) lost their entire membership
data files.
Almost anyone who works in the editorial section of a magazine, or writes for
it, gets a LOT of requests: "Can you straighten out my subscription problem?".
The circulation department is often in another city (or scattered across
several cities), and it's not easy to answer these requests.
I can't think of a single computer magazine to which I have sent a paid
subscription that hasn't somehow fouled it up. (And I imagine I have
connections! What about the poor souls who do not?)

The poor souls who do not have connections (myself, for example), purchase the
magazine from the newstand the day before the next issue is delivered to the
newstand if they did not get it in the mail by then <g>. I must have bought a
years worth of AmigaWorld from the newstand while I had a subscription, and I
only have 3 duplicate issues (Because they showed up a month late) :^(

Just a couple of thoughts. I think that the Post Office can screw up
subscriptions better than anyone. Most mags send out all the copies at once,
but your local snail mail has to finish reading them before you get them.
Also…maybe AmigaWorld could sell its unfilled subscriptions to Amazing. This
might be a way to keep something going.

Given the number of ads for IDGs mag 'Digital Video' in the April AW, I can
just guess what we're gonna be offered to complete our subscriptions….
Also, as I was flipping through the April AW, a blow-in subscription card fell
out… "Save 47%" I rofl'd in a big way…..
