(This was the case with the old A1000 Sidecar, too) Does the harddisk controller or the accelerator use the F00000 (and up) cartridge space for some ROM? This will cause problems, as the A570-CDTV ROM is located in this area! Hope this helps, Oliver

Dan, to use the A570 as a CDTV you have to turn off your hard drive. If you want to use it just as a CD-ROM from Workbench you have to make yourself a boot floppy for the hard disk. The thing seems to be that a A500 can only have 1 (one) autobooting device connected to the system bus so if you have an autoboot hard drive and A570 installed at the same time, the A570's boot screen (the red one I think) comes up unless you put in a bootable CD. If you switch off the A570 (volume control to extreme left, do NOT switch off the power supply) your hard drive will autoboot again but you won't have a CD-ROM then… If you can verify that this works for you I can give you my hd-boot-floppy's startup-sequence as an example.
