Can't help you with the Firecracker, as I don't have one. However, the jittering in de-interlace mode: Try adjusting the de-interlacer. There is a small 10 turn potentiometer in the back of the machine next to the de-interlace switch. An alignment tool (available at Radio Schlock) or jewelers screwdriver will be necessary to get to it, as the hole is small, and the potentiometer is recessed. The adjustment tends to drift over time. (In my case the jittering happened when the machine was cold, and ceased as it warmed up, but started taking longer and longer to settle out.) As for cooling: The fan on your power supply is probably no wrose than the ones sold today. (Unless it is stopped, or rotating slowly.) If your PC slots aren't in use, look in Computer Shopper. There are PC cards sold that have two little mini fans that will circulate air in the machine. You may be able to mount it so it blows directly on your Firecracker board. Hope this helps…..

Thanks for the suggestion. I had the feeling, though, that the de-interlacer adjustment was designed to cure what Commodore called "pixel jitter". What I'm experiencing is a hiccup where the whole display jitters up by one scanline for a fraction of a second. While fiddling around with things tonight, I made two discoveries. First, the problem goes away when I disconnect the Firecracker24 from my Amiga's normal (23-pin) video output. This means a flaky FC24 is the source of my woes. Second, the jitter depends on image brightness. Bringing up the Workbench Palette Prefs requester and making the background pure white gives me a constant, irregular jitter. Clicking the brightness down a few notches reduces, but does not eliminate, the jitter. Bringing the background down to 4,4,4 pretty much kills the jitter. This point is moot, since, as I've indicated, the cause seems to have been found. It's still curious, though, that high brightness levels would cause my FC24 to hiccup. Blaq!
