I have an older version of Desktopset (4.0C) which was working fine until my hard disk crashed yesterday. I have reinstalled the program, but I cannot restore my phonebook files from backup – restore. I have 3 different diskettes w/ bakup ( restore ) info on them and none of them will restore. What to do ?

Pete, Have you been able to restore in the past? Do you have any sub directories on the restore disk? If so, make sure that you point to them when restoring. Dean Okna Tech

There are two directories on my backup disk – desktop & deskapp. I have restored from this backup disk before. I made the backup disk using DST backup. It has worked previously just by clicking on the restore button. The process now seems to read the disk and then say that it cannot locate backup files. If the backup files aren't on my backup disk then I do not know where they are. Help! Thanks, Pete.

Pete, The backup program doesn't make those two directories on its own, so make sure that it's a DTS backup and not a Microsoft. If it is, where Backup says "Restore from drive" you must enter the full path of the backup files; either a:\desktop or a:\deskapp. Sincerely, Martine Carlson Okna Technical Support

Thank You!!!! It worked. Previously when I restored I did not enter a directory name for my backup diskette. However, this did solve the problem. How is the new version? Are you selling to Computer City? If not, where can I buy the new version? I have been using this program for longer than I have been registerring as a user of any programs, but now I am a confirmed registerer. I would like to purchase the new program. Again, Thanks, Pete

Pete, You can download 4.1b from the forum. It's a free update, so you don't have to pay us a cent. Sincerely, Martine Carlson Okna Technical Support
