I posted this msg a few weeks ago without Okna response. Perhaps it was one of those lost in the move to the new facility. When I first enter Windows (Calendar is in my start up group), my address book and dialer load fine (displaying the co. logo for a moment). But when the calendar tries to load, I get the msg "Can't display logo". I hit OK, and then it continues to load properly. If I then close it and try to reopen it (in same Windows session), it loads fine, without displaying the logo or the message. Any idea how I can fix the problem where it gives the logo msg when launched from the Startup group? Thanks, Brook

Brook, Your message #69875, like your earlier #68236, is merely posted to a generic "all". If you wish to reach the Okna representatives, I suggest you contact them directly by posting to their User ID of file of 71333,2161 in the future for best/fastest results. 03-02-95 08:10 CST

I'm not from tech support, but I'll give it a shot. 1) first do a back up. If you have HD space easiest way is to drag entire directories to a new named ones (such as c:\windows\deskapp2 and ….Desktop2). Be sure to "copy" not Move" (use the Ctrl key while dragging). 2) Delete okna.dll form the Deskapp directory 3) Reinstall you origional version of 4.x 4) I suggest you leave Windows and restart. 5) Make sure no active programs are running, and run 4.1b upgrade. (if using the patch version, leave Windows and run the patch from DOS) 6) Copy from the back up directory *.fmt files to the new diretory (desktop) Don't bother trying to run TapeCalc, just delete it. No longer supported. This should fix your problems, and probably 90% of the others that creep up. If not, just copy back in your backup directories and wait for the paratroopers! This is not a big deal, considering most of us have reloaded Windows from scratch at least 3 times! Mike PS When you post a note to "all", response is generally slow. It's seems it's the last one support people read because they get so many in the "in Box". It's more of a question to "anyone who happens to see this". In some forums I've never heard back (such as Big Blue). I suggest you post "timely" requests directly to Okna.

Brook, This does happen if you load multiple modules of DeskTop Set from the Startup group. It doesn't cause any harm. I've reported it to the programmers. Sincerely, Martine Carlson Okna Technical Support
