#checking of recurring
6 messages in this thread
I was hoping this would be addressed in 4.1b but looks like I'll have to wait
until the next release. If a recurring event is checked off on the day that it
occurs everything works fine (sort of – I'd rather that I were able to do a
shift-click on the next occurance and come back to this one like was possible
in the previous version). However, if I try to check off a recurring event the
day after it has occured, the effect is to check off all future occurances of
that event. Checking off a recurring event after, in advance of, or on the day
of the event should all have the same effect – to check only that event.
Thanks, Ken
Ken,
Recurring events were designed this way so you can edit a time, alarm, etc. for
a future event and change the whole string, instead of having to change each
one at a time. If you want to make a change only to one event that doesn't
occur today, go to Edit/Recurring/Unlink to unlink it from the recurring
sequence.

Martine,
Still that doesn't make sense for past events and not day-of-occurance events.
Why would I want to change future events by changing a past event?
In any case, you should make a special case for "checking off the event" which
is something I clearly DON'T want to do for all future events. It would be too
much of a hassle to Edit/Recurring/Unlink just to check off an event. Remember
that this problem is only for PAST events!

Ken,
There was something in the programming logic that required changing past events
as well as the future.

Martine,
Please put it on the wish list for the next release to correct this logic
problem!
Thanks, Ken
Ken,
We'll make sure that development is aware of the problem.
