We have recently purchased a copy of DeskTop Set. We are trying to learn to use the software. We have several questions: When we change the data in the phone book records for example, the address or phone number, The change is not reflected on the address book page. It is necessary to change the information again on the screen in order to have the phone book entry show the new address or phone number. Why is this so ? It is very inconvenient. Also I have noticed on this board that there are several update (I see 4 different ones in the library) do we need these updates? Which ones? Our serial Number is OC-KH-6084404992 Ken

Ken, The information on the address book page is in different fields than the name and phone number in the database record. This is so you can have a nickname on the page and the person's full name in the database, or you can choose any of the phone numbers to display on the page. The first time a record is entered it will copy information over, but after that you must make a change in both locations. The four update files you see are for version 4.1b, and all files are necessary along with update.txt, which has installation instructions. Sincerely, Martine Carlson Okna Technical Support

Thank you for the information, I find this to be confusing and inconvenient, however I suppose some will like it that way……can't please everyone I guess. >The four update files you see are for version 4.1b, and all files are necessary >along with update.txt, which has installation instructions. My version is 4.1 rel 4.1a Which I have had only 2-3 weeks Should I download all four files labeled 4.1b to update my software ? This will take quite a long time and be expensive, can't you mail updated disk ? It seems ureasonable to expect me to incur significant expense to upgrade software less than 30 days in my possesion. Ken, We don't have a disk version yet, so for the next month 4.1b is available on CompuServe and America OnLine only. If you want, you can request disks when they are available. Since it is a free update, we ask that you send your original install disk along with two high density disks in a self-addressed postage-paid disk mailer. Double-check with us before you send the package to make sure that the disk version is available. Sincerely, Martine Carlson Okna Technical Support
