#Adding keys between KF's

How can I add keys between two keyframes already created? I have TEMPO and KEYMAN, but neither of these offer any way to do this (at least I didn't see one). How can I "insert" keys *only* between to specified keyframes, without adding keys to any other part of the animation? Thanks. (If there is something in the manuals somewhere, please direct me there) -James Franssen

Check out the Add button in the Track Info dialog box (page 8-23), the Create Key button in the Key Info dialog box (page 8-39), and the Paths/Add Key command in the command column. Also, go through the first Keyframer tutorial (14) on the bouncing ball, and slow down around page 14-14, where the Add button is used in the Track Info dialog box. – Jack

James, If I understand your question correctly, the best way to add frames between two keyframes is to define the segment (from keyframe to keyframe) and then time scale the segment to as many frames as you like. Alec Jason

Found it, found it :z I just activate *only* the segment I want to add frames to, then select TIME/SCALE SEGMENT. Sorry to bother you. I want to mention though, it was harder to find in the manual than I think it should be. Seems like one should be able to look up FRAMES, then in the list have "adding, deleting, page 8-132". Oh well, nothing good is ever easy 🙂 -James Franssen

Glad you found it. You're right that it should be easier to find. It's just one of those things that no one has asked about — until now. – J

Now, tell me again how I can act as a middle man and buy a bunch of copies of 3DS and resell them to Wavefront for a nice profit? 😉 Seems really lucrative! Or is that "ludicrous"? -James Franssen

<<Found it, found it :z I just activate *only* the segment I want to add frames to, then select TIME/SCALE SEGMENT.>> You could add more frames in an animation by using Trackinfo and then selecting the World object. You can then slide the keys you want to happen later along further to "add" more frames between. David "Slip, sliding away" Gould
