#the cover

Be aware that opening the cover will void the warranty. But if you
really want to do it, turn the Amiga over and remove the 5 screw that are
inset deeply into the support holes…not the 2 small screw up by the front
panel that are flush with the back cover. Now about 3/4" in from the back
on either side, push in on the bottom half of the side at the same time
pull out on the top half of the side. Do this relatively gently, you don't
need to force it too much…there are little tabs that have to be freed. Do
the same thing on the front about 3/4" back from the front cover. The
other way to free the tabs is to gently pry with a small screwdriver
inserted about 3/4" in from the back (and front when you get the back free)
with the screwdriver inserted by going upwards from the bottom to the top.
Again, do it gently, you do not need to use alot of pressure or force to
pop the tabs.
Once you get the cover off, you'll see nothing except the shield. There are
about 16 screws that have to be removed and 2 twist tabs that have to be
turned to remove the RF shield. Do not untwist the 2 tabs by the front RAM
expansion port, the 2 twist tabs are on the right rear side and the left
rear edge of the shield. There are 3 screws on the power supply holding
the shield on, 1 on the disk drive, 2 by the front RAM expansion connector
and 2 on each rear port. There may be 1 or 2 more on the right rear side.
