Brent, What is MeshPaint 3D? Is it a tool for painting a texture directly on a mesh? How much will it cost? Does it work with 3Ds3? -Andy

Andy- MeshPaint 3D is an IPAS routine that does allow you to paint directly on 3DS objects. The color is contoured to the object as if you were painting on a piece of pottery. 3D models can be rotated and tilted in any direction as they are painted. The zoom in/out controls allow for great detail and control. Once applied, the paint becomes a permanent part of the object. You can choose from various stamps, brush tips, and colors; or you can create your own. An object is first shown in wireframe form. You can then adjust rotation and size of the object on the screen. After clicking on the Render button, the object becomes complete and you are ready to paint. The program has a lot of very nice features and it is very easy to use. The price is $499.95 and $8.00 for shipping within the United states. Right now we are offering the pre-release version because so many customers are asking to buy it now instead of waiting for version 1.0. The pre-release version is just about complete as of today. It has been beta testing for 2 weeks. If you do decide to purchase the pre-release version, you will receive the final packaging and final release when it has been completed. The final version should be released by April 1, 1995 and the packaging should be complete before April 7, 1995. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Thank you. Carrie Haubensak Marketing Manager

MeshPaint does sound great but shouldn't you be offering a discounted price for the pre-release version? Alec Jason

Alec- Thank you for your message. The reason we are not offering the pre-release version at a discounted price is that right now the program is basically finished. The only thing that is really missing is the final packaging. Once everything is completed (in approximately 2 weeks), we will send final packaging to those individuals who did order early. Every time we get a different version sent to us, we then in turn send the new version to our customers. The price of the program is $499.95 with $8.00 shipping charge. If you have any other questions or comments about the program please feel free to contact us again. Here is a little bit of information about the program: With MeshPaint 3D, you are able to paint directly on a 3D object and the color is contoured to the object as if you are painting on a piece of pottery. 3D models can be rotated and tilted in any direction as they are painted. The zoom in/out controls allow for great detail and control. Once applied, the paint becomes a permanent part of the object. MeshPaint 3D allows you to choose from various stamps, brush tips, and colors; or you can create your own very easily. An object is first shown in MeshPaint in wireframe form. You can then adjust rotation and size of the object on the screen. After clicking on the Render button, the object becomes complete and you are ready to paint. Carrie Haubensak
