Well I'm back. I got ahold of a workbench 2.1 install disc tried to install my
workbench and still have the old file system on the hard drive! Remember me I'm
the one who had a HD originally installed with 1.3 and updated the rom to 2.0
and copied 2.04 workbench to it and I keep getting 'can't open message body
files' requester when I try to save a reply. I also get 'can't open history
file' requesters when I veiw messages. Every thing else seems to work ok,
downloads, catalouges, etc. Oh yeah when I go to pending and veiw a message
I've replied to I get a requester that says 'something went wrong reply exsists
but I cannot open it'.How do I install the new file system? No other programs
I'm running seem to be affected by it, even other 2.0 specific ones. Why only
AutoPilot AND IF I boot from disc Shouldn't the system be operating from the
New filesystem?

One more Note: During the workbench installation I had one error that is
'Can't find COPYFILES dir or source missing' If That's all I need mabey I can
get a copy of it.
Did you format your hard drive with 2.1. If not, you still have 1.3 filesystem,
I guess.

When I start 2.1 HDtool It tells me DRiver not installed and won't do anything
else.
What HD controller are you using?

what you gotta do is the following:
Backup your HardDisk, just in case anything goes wrong ! Dont't forget to
make a bootable disk with the Backup Program you use on it !
Start HDToolBox from the Install2.1 disk.
Select the drive you want to alter the filsystem of and click on the
`partition drive' gadget. Now, in the partitioning window, click on
`Advanced Options'.
Now, you want to click on `Add/Update File Systems'. It will show you the
file system for the partition.
If the filesystem will be something other than the FastFileSystem, you may
delete it, leaving the drive with _no_ filesystem in the RDB.
Click on OK and go to `Set File system of Partition'. Click on the gadget
`Fast File System' (Leave all other fields about Mask and such alone!).
So, click OK again, and another OK will bring you to the Main window
again. Now, click on `Save Changes to drive', then Exit.
Next time you boot, no filesystem will be found by the system, forcing it
to use the built-in filesystem of the OS ROMs.
If the filesystem was previously set to something other than the Fast File
System, you should reformat the Drive (using the workbench Format Disk…
of the Icons Menu) and restore the Data from the Backup you hopefully
made, using the Floppy Disk Copy of the Backup program.

oh, I think I forgot about you got a third party SCSI host adaptor which
will use a driver not named `scsi.device'.
So, to tell HDToolBox the driver's name of your SCSI card, you have to add
a ToolType to the Icon of the HDToolBox prgram:
SCSI_DEVICE_NAME=xyz.device
where `xyz.device' is the actual name of the driver your card uses.
Just ask for details if you are not sure about how to do this.
