I sometimes get messages like: 'Work has a checksum error' when I power on my A3000 with a PP&S 040 board. If I click on Retry that will usually make it go away. Does anybody know why this keeps happening? Thanks.. …DonovaN

>> Does anybody know why this keeps happening? Yes, you've got a harddisk that's going bad or, if you're lucky, just a sector that's going bad. Back it up, try running DiskSalv on it. If that doesn't help, reformat it (lowlevel). -sja

I forgot to mention this is a brand new harddisk. I lowleveled it just the other day. Anyway, I'll do what you suggest and see if that helps.

Being new doesn't mean it isn't failing. If it's new get it replaced. -sja

Witch version of the 68040.library are you useing? It should be 37.30. Also setpatch must be 40.14 or 40.16 .

I'm using version 36.2 of the 68040.library and version 40.16 of setpatch. How do I get the latest 68040.library?

It comes with WB3.1, gigamem. And it may be on Amigauser as a part of a PD program, like set040. You may get it from a dealer. It's a most for the Toaster Flyer to work and SCSI DMA.

I've got WB3.1 so I'll reinstall it. Thanks for the suggestion. …DonovaN
