Betty, Thanks for your swift reply….but. More stupid questions. OK, I did the makedir ram stuff and all seemed to work well, the archive unpacked and all. However I saw no change in the ram window, I clicked ram off and then double clicked it back on and there was now a drawer labled "change" (I DLed CHANGE.LHA), but there was nothing in it. I used to have to reboot when I downloaded before to the hard drive drawer I had named CIS and all was well. I know if I reboot with ram all will be lost. Are there any more lines in the CLI that I can evoke to see the program…I tried but kept getting [CLI 4]. Be patient and gentle. Seattle Bob…Now a six meg maniac

Bob, Most programs will have an icon – but not every one. Sometimes you just have to use the CLI and type DIR RAM:CHANGE and you will see a list of the files there. You can then read the doc file – could be called readme, or xxxx.doc or xxxx.txt or something similar. It will tell you how to go about using the program. If you downloaded Changes.LHA for AutoPilot, it is a text file – no icon. Just read it with a reader. You could type: RUN ED RAM:CHANGE/filename (changes.lha or whatever.) and that will load the text file into the editor so you can read it. —Betty
