<<Could this be the intermediate step up from VD 2.0 that I'm looking for?>> No idea. All I know of PC equipment is what I read in Digital Video mag and Videomaker. One thing to keep in mind, tho. If, at a later time, you decide to move up to NLE, you will most likely not be able to use your digital video switcher and the NLE simultaneously on the same PC. But since you have other platforms that could probably run Video Magician, that wouldn't be a problem. Paul

It turns out Video Magician is not for me. It works via VISCA and that means I'd need Vboxes. For that expense I'd rather go with ////FAST VM Lite. For now I'm giving GVP's Personal Suite Plus a try. Edit control via a customized version of Video Director 1.5 coupled tightly with titling, SFX, fade, dissolve, etc and a 1mb Genlock card. $499 from Electronic Mailbox with 30d money back. This is what I wanted to do with VD 2.0 but lost confidence after reading the hate mail in the Gold Disk forum. Basically I'm looking for edit control and titling via the computer. SFX could be with Videonics MX-1 and it has TBC. I dunno what's 'best' at this point. Any other suggestions? Thanks. -jts
