Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Harry. I've been out of town on
business for two weeks. You're correct. The SLV-R5UC is not RCTC. It is,
however, LAN-C controlled which means you don't need the FAST Studio Control
box to run it. I believe a number of others have already provide good
solutions for connecting and allowing VM to read the TC during insert edit. As
I mentioned, I'm not a professional at this and I don't have the same
requirements as a professional. I have the R5UC connected only as the recorder
with no feedback back into the VM to enable the TC read during insert editing.
I've never attempted to measure the frame accuracy of the inserts in this mode
but visually during normal viewing the edits appear very clean. Best of luck in
