#Nonprofit Video Services

Tim, I don't know if I'm too late to meet your deadline. Your last message was
over two weeks ago. But here in Chicago there are two locations that are good
for Non-Profits. The first is the Chicago Access Corporation. They run five
public access channels in Chicago. After taking classes on learning the
equipment, Non-Profits and the person off the street can use the equipment and
studio for free. This is a multi-million dollar setup. They just installed
Video Toasters in their editing suites.
The other location in the chicago area is the Center for New T.V. which is a
non-profit organization which rents equipment for the prices you mentioned
($25.00 per hour).
Although my company is a high-end production outfit, we often do free
productions for non-profits. And many companies in Chicago do so as well. I
hope your article reaches the desks of many of Chicago non-profits, because
I've seen too many pay more for a 10 minute video than IBM.

Not a bit! In fact, given my screwy schedule the last few weeks, you're right
on time <g>.
Thanks for the info! Do you have phone numbers/addresses for Chicago Access
Corporation & Center for New T.V.?
Best,
Tim
Hi Tim:
The phone number for the Chicago Access Corporation is (312) 738-1400. This is
the public access operation for the City of Chicago. The phone number for the
Center for new T.V. is (312) 951-6868. They have low rates for Non-Profits and
non-commerical projects. I can be reached directly at (312) 787-1854. Good
luck.

Thanks! I really appreciate the help.

Hah. The revolution continues. (On my soapbox) DTV video, as we call it is
revolutionizing all facets of video production. You might see an advertisement
for an on-line editor at some network station or other high profile video
production center, and I'll tell you what, your knowledge of DTV
(FAST/Pinnacle/Toaster etal.) and the power of what DTV really is, software and
hardware for producing broadcastable graphics, CG, CGI, Image Processing, 3D
animation etc., will be your edge over the other professionals that apply.
