Bryan – I think you've hit the nail on the head here. Until they get the
MPEG algorithm fully integrated into the MPC, I don't think we need to
worry for a while about full-motion video data streaming throughput. That
will be in about a year and a half by my best guess. My advice is go with
what you can afford and has the best bundled apps. The apps are still TOO
expensive purchased alone. This is not helping the CDROM publishers
sustain large market share growth. Right now, its the vanguard power users
that are driving the market. They still are not addressing the average
home or work-at-home PC user's needs. With the amount of confusion
prevalent, Joe Average just keeps putting off his purchasing decision until
sanity reigns. Besides, in a year, will we even recognize what the CDROM
manufacturers product will look like or what feature will be 'absolutely
necessary'? Thanks for driving the market into 'critical mass' finally.
