#Backup PAR

Hi all,
I was wondering if there was a way to backup the par over the network. I am
using Lantastic 6.0 and I can get it to see the drive, but it shows no files or
directories.

Andrew,
You need to make sure that the PAR drive is a drive letter above all of the
other network drives, this should be first thing that you do. Then you need to
set the PAR drive as "other" in the drive type-description. From here you
should be able to see the PAR drive/drives and do a backup over the network.
You should do some tests to make sure that you can read the files after a
restore, just to be safe. I recently saw a message up here on the forum that
you could do a backup & restore using only the PAR drive, but again do some
tests!! I have always copied the ANI's to DOS the do the backup then restore to
DOS and copy the ANI's back to the PAR.

Thanks a lot for the info. I will give it a try. I have also heard of some
problems regarding backing up and restoring directly to the par. I will do
some tests but I think to be on the safe side I will just copy the ani's over
to a dos drive.
