Brent, I'll order it directly from you. Nevertheless I'll give your contact to the local 3DSTUDIO dealer, just in case he is interested. I thought you where going to upload a demo. Are you? Alvaro

Alvaro- The demo was uploaded this morning so hopefully you should see it by tomorrow, or at the latest, by Friday. The pre-release version is working great. The name of the uploaded program is called 3D_Paint.zip. If you decide to order you can call us at 1-800-365-1002. Our address is 1915 N. 121 Street, Omaha, NE 68154. and our fax is 402-403-6254. After uploading the program, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us. The non-save version will not allow you to load any 2D images to combine with 3D objects, but the regular version does allow that. You are also able to create brush tips and stampers out of 2D images. Carrie Haubensak Marketing Manager

>> The demo was uploaded this morning so… I did d/l it but have not yet tried it. I appreciate your demo and the reviews have certainly been glowing. But I am still going to mention a small nit here. Even though I followed the instructions in the README.TXT file, I could not try painting. Why? I have my main display set for 256 colors. The popup says that I must change to truecolor. I do not see this in the README.TXT file. Or does everyone else have their main display set to truecolor? I trust you will consider this a positive comment.

Albert, You are correct sir! MeshPaint 3D does require 16 bit or greater video display to function properly. I was in such a rush to write the short text file that I forgot it. The performance of the program is dependent on both the speed of the processor, and the speed of the video card. However, I've been able to enjoy it on even a 486 33 with a $75 video card. Sorry for the inconvenience. Brent

I took a look at the program looks very cool… Question, after painting my blob bear mesh, I noticed that the back of the bear was painted too, I set the U.V to none but no change. Brandon

Brandon, What type of mapping were you using? Maybe we need to see the file. Brent

I would just like to say congratulations on this absolutely incredible IPAS. It is by far the most inuitive way of making bitmaps for objects ever! Even my non-techy girlfriend took a sudden and suprising interest in using 3D Studio after I showed her the demo. She then asked me if she could use 3D Studio since it looks so EASY. So now, thanks to you, she has the impress that I have an easy job <g> The next step is real-time interaction and tactile feedback so I can feel and touch the clay pot as I add bumps and mold it's shape. At the current rate of new IPAS routines shipping that should be coming tomorrow <g> David "Pixel pushing now in 3D" Gould

David, Thanks for the comments. >Even my non-techy girlfriend took a sudden and suprising interest in using 3D Studio after I showed her the demo. She then asked me if she could use 3D Studio since it looks so EASY We had our salesman's girlfriend (who is a traditional painter) try it out with similar results. She had never used a computer for art purposes before, yet had painted a very realistic map for one of the 3DS Face models. Brent
