I have seen the personal version of Manx listed at around $169. This is
close to the $149 that I have seen (I think I remember) for Amiga C. The
Manx ads say that the "personal" version has a less-optimized compiler than
the other, more expensive versions. As I have heard that Aztec C can only
incorporate Aztec-produced code, I think this makes for an upgrade problem.
The only reason I might buy Manx is for the speed of the optimized compiler,
but the cost is way too high. I have heard that the libraries that the Manx
compiler does not include are just utilities, like the ones Lattice sells.
I think for simplicity, and cost/performance, I may go with Amiga C (Lattice)
. Lattice is not independantly marketing the compiler, I believe, but they
are marketing utilities.
