A strange thing about setting color choices is that the 256 version will use the colors that you set from Preferrences, but the 512K version ignores Pref. settings. You're the first person that I've talked to that actually likes the white screen/black letters — that's usually one of the first negative comments that I hear. But, as you said, personal tastes differ. I'm just sorry that TC doesn't take these differences into account. I have no idea why it takes so long to load a file, much larger files are loaded, under other prog., is 1/10 the time. I agree with your discussion re. computer beginners. TC is friendly toward them and that is/will be a strong point in getting novices to use a WP. But, the is no reason that utility and total usefulness to be sacrificed. Through menu switching, both novices and advanced features can be included in one piece of SW. I don't know if you are familiar with Select, but it has a tutorial, is simple and easy to use, yet it has many of the features found in full size WP's like Word Star. You mentioned that you don't use TC from CLI, that's about the only way I run it. Generally, because about the only thing that I use TC for is to read CIS downloads, and, of course, there's no icon for them when I start out. In reference to graphic support, I have almost no experience using TC for graphics, or even text, output. Since I find its features so limited, I do all my business writing on a NEC that is supported with several WP packages, 2 spelling checkers , 2 printers and a plotter. I'm hopeful that the update will improve some of the short comings that we've mentioned.
