recom. for good clip art programs in dxf format question: is one allowwed
to use clip art images commercially?, i.e, put the clip art on items that
will be sold? is the mastek 800 sa scanner ok? i would appreciate hekp in
these questions thanks Ernie Klaber./exit
Hi Ernest, welcome to the forum.
Rendering program? AutoShade w/ Autodesk RenderMan or Autodesk 3D Studio.
There are others, of course, but I am slightly biased.
PCX to DXF? PCX is raster, DXF is vector. Oil and water. I have no
recommendations.
Clip art in DXF format? Well, we in the vector world call them Symbol
Libraries and there are many to choose from, but you have to be specific as
to what kind of art you want. Call any AutoCAD dealer and he can find you
some.
Are symbol libraries proprietary? I suspect that most of them are not.
Mastek 800 Scanner OK? I don't know and I don't like scanners (see
question #2).
Communications program so you can save $$$ on your Compuserve bill? AutoSIG
(ATO) in the IBM forum is free; TAPCIS in the TapCIS forum is cheap.
From your questions, it sounds like you are more interested in raster
(paint) programs than vector (CAD) programs. The ASOFT forum (GO ASOFT) is
rife with artistic types like yourself. It deals with the Autodesk
Multimedia products like AAnimator Pro and 3D Studio.
