Jeff, As Larry said the complete error listing is not out there(having said which, I hope someone says I'm wrong, I'd love to have one as well). The book _Encyclopedia AutoCAD Release 11_ from Sybex does have a partial list in an appendix however, from which: "_Invalid Option Keyword_. AutoCAD has displayed a prompt indicating optional keyword responses, but has recieved a response not included among the valid options. Check the capitalized letters within the prompt (flipping to the text screen if necessary) and enter a valid response." Dave T-L

Dave Hey, thanx for the quote–I needed that. Let's stick together on this one. I'm forming an unPeace March on Sausalito to get AutoDesk to include error messages in the documentation so us (or is it we), hell, the entire ACAD user community can look up their own error messages rather than have to call our dealers, who are too busy half the time, & too stupid the other half. Too strong…? Appreciatively, Jeff

Jeff, Well, I think it would be a good idea as well. I think that the >too stupid< part is a bit too strong though the >too busy< may be appropriate. I think most dealers are making a good faith effort to be as knowledgable as possible, but just as for us, this is a rapidly moving target. Remember that a lot of the folks who take time to answer questions here are dealers as well(not me though), and that the package is very complex. Autodesk may well feel that including pages and pages of all possible error messages would be intimidating and add bulk to an already large manual set. Another option that would be useful might be a .txt (or even.zip) file that users who wanted this feature could put on their hard-disk for access. I'd be willing to pay a modest amount for this as an optional extra document. BTW, I just noticed that the *invalid* messages(as a class) are mentioned on p580 of the r11 manual, though it could definitely be more clearly stated, maby they could ask for dealer lists of the 20 most common error messages and include those in the manual.
