Help sell Compuserve. I'm trying to convince a friend to sign up by proving the value of CIS. He uses ACAD but I don't. I said I'd try to answer his question by asking here. He's using ACAD10 on a 286. He wants to know how to make the associative dimensions of part of a drawing attach to the piece so that he can make a materials list and the materials list will show the current dimensions. He says that he has to use blocks to create his materials list and that he can't change the size of a block. I hope that I stated the above correctly so that you can understand what he wants to do. Ask if you need more info. Duncan

Duncan, sounds like he needs to do some lisp programming. Using Handles, he could keep a link between the block and it's dimension. A lisp program could read his block and the handle of the dimension, then read the dimension itself. Of course Blocks can be scaled/sized in any axes. In fact they can be scaled differently in each axis, but then you can not explode them. There, did I sell CI$? Anil
