5 SIDED SOLIDS

I NEED HELP IN DRAWING A FIVE SIDED SOLID, E.G. A RECTANGLE WITH A CORNER
REMOVE. I NEED THIS FOR A 3DSYSTEM. HIDE WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY UNESS I
CONTRUCT THE SOLID FROM PLINES OR SOLIDS. USE TWO PLINES NOW BUT THEY LEAVE A
SINGLE LINE IN THE MIDDLE. ANY HELP ON THI THIS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRIATED.
What version of AutoCAD are you using? If you have 2.6 or better you would be
best off using 3dfaces. (It sounds like you don't have that capability)
It's hard to tell you what to use when I don't know what you have, but if Pre
2.6, then the one way you can easily build this would be to extrude a profile
of your "solid" into the Z then cap each end with a pline with varying width.
If you ave 2.6 or better, build it out of 3dfaces.

Tom – Currently, AutoCAD can create SOLIDs or 3DFACEs out of traingular and
quadrilateral pieces only, and there's no way to suppress the lines between
pieces. In Release 10 we're planning to add an "invisible edge" option for
the 3DFACE command, but I'm afraid there's no way to do it at the moment.
