In the past six months, I remember reading a magazine article that described
a public domain implementation of a PostScript interpreter that came from the
University of Tokyo. It was a subset, not a full implementation. Chances
are, this was reported in a PC developer or C magazine. Does this ring a
bell with anyone? Does anyone have a pointer to any other PD PostScript
interpreters?
Right, I've heard of the other PS clones in development, but where did you
hear about this Japanese one? I've heard that they've got it running on
MS-DOS, and that it was public domain, and that they were lacking in font
support, which is a very difficult part of the port. If you've got any
reference to this Japanese one, please tell me, I'd like to track it down for
myself.
