downloading fonts/files

John,
I am not sure where you need the help. You have obviously been able to
connect to CompuServe so you do have some functional communications software.
What program are you using.
At the ! prompt type go adobe. You will need to join the Adobe Forum in order
to be able to get to download fonts. At this point you will see a function
menu. Select DL. Chose DL6 – that is the data library that contains the
Macintosh screen fonts. There is file called INDEX.DL6 in DL6. To read it
chose the BRO (browse command). Type Bro Index.dl6. It will give you a
brief description of the file. It then says something that essentially asks
you what you want to do with this file. You can then select read (online) or
download it from the menu. If you chose to download this file you can
capture as a text file. When you have decided which font files you wish to
download, select the download option, give it the file name, and tell it that
it is a binary file. Use Xmodem to download. Each communication program has
a different way of starting the Xmodem download. Consult your manual. The
program should then give you some sort of graphic indicator showing that it
is downloading the requested file.
If you need further help, please leave me a message on the Adobe Forum.
Thanks.
