As you might remember, I have the C-LTD SCSI interface and a Everex 20D HD
hooked up to my Amiga 500. I have the FastFileSystem now, but can't seem to
get it to work with my system. It doesn't hurt it any, but doesn't help
either. I've set up my new Mountlist and added the 2 lines:
GlobVec = 1
FileSystem = L:FastFileSystem
Put the FastFileSystem in my L: directory, reformatted my partitions using
the FFS option in the new Format, used the new MOUNT, etc, etc. But I don't
notice any speed increase at all, its as if it were running under the old
file system. I don't have the full 1.3, just the files needed for the FFS
that was copied to my 1.2 disk. Do I need 1.3 for the FFS to work? Or do I
need a new SCSI.device driver that C-LTD might be working on? Any ideas Ben?
Your help is certainly appreciated, and if you can get me going with the FFS,
I promise to stop bugging you! ( X – Fingers crossed 🙂

Hmmm, my docs say to make it
GlobVec = -1
I suspect that this is NOT the problem, but ya' never know.
Well, I tried setting GlobVec = -1 but it still didn't work. But I sure
appreciate the info Vic!

Ben, just another thought. Since the C-LTD drivers do not use BINDRIVERS to
install themselves, do you suppose this could be part of the problem. I
didn't use BINDDRIVERS when I was trying to set up the FFS on my HD. If I
need to use BINDDRIVERS, then can I use the old 1.2 bind or do I need the 1.3
version?

The 1.2 Binddrivers is the same as the 1.3 version.

From what I've seen, you can't use the FFS on a drive that
auto-mounts, what does your 1.3 documentation say?
