Jon, I too dislike having to put a disk in a drive to make it shutup, but there is a bug in trackdisk.device that might in some cases cause problems (a rare 'unexplainable' guru?) when a drive is left empty. This bug will be fixed in 1.4, or so says Commodore. Thus, it's best to always keep a disk in a drive that otherwise would be left to click click click. (Sorry, I can't remember where I read this. I'm not imagining it though; it was definitely in one of the many Amiga magazines within the past two months.) If the disk icon taking up space on your Workbench screen bothers you, you can keep a blank formatted disk just for this purpose. Give it a one-pixel color 0 icon, save the icon in Backfill mode, then relabel the disk " " (one space). Presto, invisible icon! -Joel
